Consulting

Inspired people can accomplish inspiring things together. Culture, by every metric, is the cornerstone of thriving organizations. The two most important success traits are relationship and competency, in that order. I call this the “Popovich Effect” after the winningest coach in NBA history. Players and colleagues who were interviewed after he set the record for most wins, consistently mentioned two themes - his high standards and his caring nature. He demanded much of those around him and he went out of his way to show they mattered to him.

Early in my consulting career these two things became evident, people want to be treated well and to be part of something successful. Also evident was the default in many organizations - to emphasize tasks and numbers over people. Fortunately, as research continues to prove the advantages of a healthy culture, organizations are beginning to understand that if they do not adapt, they will fail. As the rates of change and complexity are exponentially increasing, adaptability is a necessity. The keys to adaptation lie in an organization's ability to support more personal, relational and systemic health - the three pillars ‘Organizational E.Q.’

There is no 'one size fits all' approach. Each organization has their own unique combination of vision, resources, personnel, culture, dynamics, priorities, etc. We would start with an initial consultation to establish whether we are a good fit (I’m more selective about the organizations I work with now than I was 20 years ago). If we choose work together, we would collaborate to create an optimal strategic approach.
